The inspiring view of Annapurna I (8,091m- 10th highest in the world), Manaslu (8,156m- 8th highest), Dhaulagiri (8,167m-7th highest) and numbers more silver mountains offers a breathtaking scenery. Our 21 days Annapurna Circuit Trekking is a sincerely planned trip made by including all those mysteries of greatest nature.

Starting form sub tropical elevation of 800masl (*meter above sea level), it extends to extreme alpine elevation of 5,416masl to Thorong La pass. Some days of trip are pretty strenuous due to an amount of difficulties. We walk counter clockwise from Manang side and go to sacred town of Muktinath by crossing the world’s highest pass of Thorong la. Also the trail takes us to Kaligandaki valley- the world’s deepest gorge. Together Poon Hill, Tatopani (hot spring), cultural village of Ghandruk are other highlights of this Annapurna circuit trekking. Join us; we assure our best on what trekking in Nepal has to offer.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel (1338m)

Welcome in Nepal. Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport, a representative from  Adventure Himalayan Treks  greets you. After a short introduction and causal talk, you will be transfer to a chosen hotel in Kathmandu. In rest of day take a rest or visit around the city. At evening there will be a welcome dinner program in an authentic Nepali restaurant. Enjoy Nepalese cuisine along with cultural dance presentation.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour, trek preparation

After breakfast, there will be a guided tour to UNESCO cultural centers of Kathmandu city. We will visit Swyambhunath (monkey temple), Kathmandu Durbar square, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhnath Stupa. Our guide will tell us insight story behind these artifacts. After tour we will arrange a trek briefing program followed by preparation (packing etc.) for next adventure.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Khudi (800m)

Today is around 8 hours’ long bus ride to khudi, trek starting point. Passing by scenic foothills and white water Rivers, the journey becomes quite pleasing even then it’s a long ride. You’ll catch first glimpse of snow-capped mountains from around Khudi. Stay overnight in Khudi.

Day 04: Trek from Khudi to Bahundanda (1310m)

Yes! Today we do start trekking along lush forest, passing by incredible waterfalls and suspension bridges over Marshyandi Nadi River. Bhulbhule, Taraphu, Nadi and Lampata are some of big villages we see. This is going to be an easy day as we walk through minor up-down trail till reaching to the destination Bahundanda.

Day 05: Trek from Bahundanda to Chamje (1430m)

Trail drops steeply down through narrow gorge, rice fields and suspension bridges. Today also we are going to pass by several small settlements of different ethnic groups. Ghermu, Syange, Jagat 91300m) are well settled villages exactly at natural splendor. Before reaching to village of Chamje, a peaceful walk through pine forest is just alluring. Stay overnight in Chamje.

Day 06: Trek from Chamje to Dharapani (1860m)

Walk downhill passing though fields of potatoes, barley and corn. In spring this area becomes colorful with blooming rhododendron flower. From near Marshyandi River trail directs uphill to the village of Tal (1700m). We continue through zigzag path, sometime passing by large group of donkey caravan and terraces. Overnight at Dharapani.

Day 07: Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2670m)

The sparking view of Silver Mountain closes as we trek to Manang region. Cross Marshyandi River and trek westward to the village of Bagarchhap (2160m). Most of settlements above here are hugely influenced by Tibetan culture and lifestyle. A progressive walk through pine and fir forest takes us to Nar-Phu valley, offering sensational views of Annapurna II, IV and Lamjung Himal. We will set our night stay at Chame Village.

Day 08: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3300m)

You’ll have to trek through deep forest, narrow valley and scattered settlements. Today we will cross suspension bridges over Marshyandi Nadi for several times followed by climbing up to the next valley. The journey is not the boring one as we walk by viewing hair-raising landscapes of the territory. Overnight at a guest house of Pisang.

Day 09: Trek from Pisang to Manang (3540m)

As we are moving to higher elevation of Manang atmosphere become drier and colder. Manang is the major village of the district with enticing view of Annapurna Mountains to the south and mysterious Mustang to the north. Stay overnight in Manang.

Trekking time: 6-7 hours

Day 10: Acclimatization in Manang

Today we remain in Manang in order to acclimatize with the elevation. At higher altitude there might be possibility of getting Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), so it’s our sincere planning ascending no any elevation. We’ll keep our legs stretched with some scenic, peaceful day walks around the sprawling village.

Day 11: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4050m)

Trail ascends steep 500m to Yak Kharka. Leaving Marshyandi Valley we’ll continue along Ghusang Khola valley, passing by Mani walls and Yak pastures. The day offers panoramic view of Annapurna sanctuary. Enjoy the view and stay overnight in Yak Kharka.

Day 12: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m)

Today will be an easy short trekking in order to fit our body with the elevation. Thorong Phedi has some of newest teahouses of little busy bazaar by trekkers. Stay overnight in a chosen guesthouse.

Day 13: Trek form Thorong Phedi to Thorong La pass (5416m) to Muktinath (3760m)

Today is climax of this trip, also the hardest day. We’ll start before sunrise in order to reach to pass as early as possible. The climb to Thorong La (5416m) is challenging but the reward is pretty awesome. It has one of the finest views entire Annapurna Mountains and some eastern Himalayas.
From pass make a gentle descend down towards the sacred town of Muktinath (3760m). Literally “Muktinath” means the “place of Nirvana”, sacred for both Hindu and Buddhist. Stay overnight in Muktinath.

Day 14: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2800m)

Today all the way downhill we travel through scenic, beautiful trail. For first couple of hours we descend to Kaligandaki River bed followed by walking through flat valley joining to Jomsom. Jomsom has an airport. If you want to shorten the trip here is an option to fly back to Pokhara. Overnight Jomsom.

Day 15: Trek from Jomsom to Kalopani (2350m)

Trek all the way downhill to Kalopani through lush forest, river side and scattered villages. Villages like Marpha, Chokhopani, Khokethanti are famous resided by Thakali, Gurung and Tamang peoples, mostly Buddhist. From the way you can see fine view of Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Tukche peak, Nilgiri etc. We will set our night stay in Kalopani.

Day 16: Trek from Kalopani to Tatopani (1190m)

Today we will see another special natural phenomenon: natural hot spring at Tatopani. Along downhill trail passes though waterfalls, sub-tropical forest and terraces of lower elevation. Reaching Tatopani enjoy dive in hot spring and stay overnight.

Day 17: Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani (2860m)

After breakfast start walking towards Ghorepani. Observe unique livelihood of midland villages of Nepal. Ghara, Shikha and Chitre are major settlements on the way with terraces and inclined farmlands. While ascending upward to Ghorepani we’ll encounter rhododendron and birch forests along with fine glimpse of snowy peaks. We will stay a night in Ghorepani.

Day 18: Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2630m)

Early morning hike to Poon-Hill (3210m) to catch spectacular sunrise on overwhelming Annapurna Mountains. It’s a kind of nature photographer’s paradise. Shot the moments with your camera and make it last for rest of your life. After breakfast in the guesthouse, continue trek to Tadapani through rhododendron forest. Today the trail goes evenly up and down.

Day 19: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m) to Pokhara (827m)

Today walk through dense forest to the cultural village of Ghandruk. Enjoy lunch there and continue to Nayapul. It will be pleasing downhill walk inspired by mid hill sceneries. From Nayapul we will drive back to queen city of Pokhara. Visit around Phewa Lake, Lakeside city and stay overnight in a hotel.

Trekking time: 7-8 hours
Driving time: 1.5 hours

Meals: Breakfast, lunch

Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast we’ll catch a tourist bus and drive back to Kathmandu. Along scenic foothills it will be a good bus ride. Upon arriving Kathmandu check in your chosen hotel and take rest ahead. Stay overnight in Kathmandu hotel.

Day 21: Departure transfer
