Manaslu Circuit is an authentic wilderness trekking trail which encircles Mt Manaslu (8,163m- 8th highest in the world). Starting from sub-tropical elevation of around 700m, it extends through ethnic villages, virgin/sacred lands and the sensational pass of 5,160masl (*meter above sea level) to Larkya La. Join our 18 days Manaslu Circuit Trekking and explore one of the best unspoiled natural beauties of countryside Nepal.

The ecological disparity, diverse ethnicity and jaw-dropping sceneries are major attributes of Manaslu region. This trip begins with drive from Kathmandu to a small settlement of Sotikhola. Further, it continues against the current of Budi Gandaki River and sweeps though rocky trails, several settlements and glacial lakes. Larkya La pass offers some of finest view of Mt. Manaslu, Manaslu North (7,157m), Himalchuli (7,893m), Pungi Himal (6,538m) and hundreds more.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are main trekking season in Manaslu. Since it is a restricted area, visitors need special permit to enter and there should be minimum of two trekkers.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome in Nepal! Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport a representative from Adventure Himalayan will greet you. You’ll be then taken to a chosen hotel, freshen up and relax. At evening we accompany you for a welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant presenting Nepali cultural dance as well.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing tour & trek preparation

Today we’ll go for sightseeing tour around the UNESCO sites of Kathmandu city. A professional culture guide will assist you in visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square: home of living goddess, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath and Boudhnath stupa. Late afternoon is for some official formalities and necessary preparations such as shopping, back packing etc.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola (720m)

Today, you’ll be driving from Kathmandu to Sotikhola via Dhading Bensi (district headquarters of Dhading district). Gamble the sceneries of hilly Nepal while driving through dramatic foothills and highways. Onward Dhading Bensi is rough road through rural villages and terraces. Stay overnight in Sotikhola.

Day 04: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900m)

After breakfast, we’ll set our first day trekking through Budi Gandaki River and dense forest. Walk through rocky trails and pass by lovely settlements of Lapubesi, Khanikhola and eventually reach to Machha Khola for overnight rest. This versatile section of our journey gives an authentic experience of rural Nepal.

Day 05: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1410m)

We’ll make a many twists and turn through narrow snaky trails. At Tatopani village, there is a small natural hot spring. Furthermore, we’ll climb through ridges, suspension bridge over Budi Gandaki River and stone stairs via the villages of Dobham and Yaruphant. We’ll set our night stay in Jagat.

Day 06: Trek to Deng (1804m)- 6-7 hours trek

Today we’ll enter into the Manaslu conservation area. Along the fluctuating trail, we’ll walk via Salleri, Sirdibas and big Gurung village Phillim (1,570m). The millet field in the territory is so dramatic. Enjoy your walk on rising and falling hills and finally reach to Deng for night stay.

Day 07: Trek to Namrung (2630m)- 6-7 hours trek

Soon after trek is start, we’ll cross Budi Gandaki River and ascend to Rana village. Our further steps take us to beautiful Budi Gandaki valley. While passing by settlements of Pork and Ghap, the imposing view of Siringi Himal welcome us. Consequently, route continues through dense forest till to Namrung village.

Day 08: Trek to Samagaun (3530m)- 6-7 hours trek

Today we’ll look many mountain villages with their authentic existences and cultural lifestyles. Lihi, Sho, Lho, Shyala, Sama are such an amazing destinations with tantalizing snowy peaks in front. Siringi, Ganesh, Himal Chuli (7,893m), Manaslu (8,163m), Peak 29 are some of finest peaks you’ll see. Stay overnight in Samagaun.

Day 09: Rest day in Samagaun

Today is an acclimatization day in Samagaun. We’ll explore cultural and religious significances there. This village is mainly influenced by Shepa traditions and Tibetan Buddhist practices. Mani walls, Gompas and Monasteries are sacred monuments. Visit them, hike to Pungen Gompa and stay overnight in Samagaun.

Day 10: Trek to Samdo (3860m)

After breakfast, start downhill walk to Budi Gandaki River and turn northward to Samdo village. En-route we’ll see Himalayan Marmot and some other alpine creatures. Samdo is a big village with huge weight of Tibetan traditions. Enjoy your moments with friendly peoples and breathtaking sceneries.

Day 11: Rest day in Samdo

To the high Himalaya, the newcomers might get acute mountain sickness. In order to avoid it, they need to take rest often. So we’ll take another day rest here. But we’ll not stay idle; either we’ll hike to valley back of Samdo or to Gya La in the north. Both these places offers imposing view of Manaslu (8,163m), Himalchuli (7,331m), Simnang (6,251m), Larkye peak (6,249m) and many more. Explore around and stay overnight in Samdo.

Day 12: Trek to Dharmasala (4460m)

In a first section of trek, we’ll descend down to Budi Gandaki River thereby cross wooden bridge over there. Then ascend to Larkya Bazaar (4,090m) - seasonal Tibetan market. Furthermore, we’ll walk through the moraine of Larkya glacier and reach to Dharmasala for night stay.

Day 13: Trek to Bimthang (3,590m) via Larkya pass (5,160m)

Today we are going to cross by Larkya-La pass (5,160m) – the highest point of our trek. Ascend gradually from longitudinal face of Larkya glacier. At some point it might me challenging for some of you. From top, the gigantic view Mt Manaslu (8,163m) and series of Himalayan peaks is superb. Capture the sceneries with your eyes and camera and slowly descend down to Bhimthang for overnight rest.

Day 14: Trek to Tilije (2300m)

In the morning, enjoy dazzling sunrise view over Manaslu Mountain. After breakfast, we’ll start downhill walk along rocky trail, Yak pastures and cultivated lands. In spring this entire area becomes colorful with rhododendron flower. You’ll pass by villages of Kharche and Gho before reaching to Tilije for overnight stay.

Day 15: Trek to Tal (1700m)

Today also trail is mostly though downhill. Slowly we’ll become deprive of mountain views and come into another cultural contrast of hilly Nepal. Somewhere from Dharapani, we’ll enter to Annapurna circuit trekking trail. Walk though several settlements, landscapes and ultimately come a small village of Tal and stay overnight.

Day 16: Trek to Syange (1080m)- 6-7 hours

After breakfast, follow the direction of Marshyandi River. It will become a pleasing trek while descending through lush forest, fields and scattered settlements. As elevation drop, you’ll feel easier to walk and breathe. We’ll set our overnight in Syange.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu

After having breakfast, you’ll be driving back to Kathmandu via Besisahar. Marshyandi and Trishuli River will accompany us in most part of journey. Appreciate amazing hills and ridges of countryside Nepal. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, shift to hotel and celebrate your success.

Day 18: Final departure

Our Manaslu Circuit Trekking trip comes to an end today. We want you to share your wonderful experience with us. Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, we’ll assist you in transferring to airport and fly to your onward destination.
